In its consideration, the Supervisory Board regards the position of NLR’s Executive Director as more than a full-time job. It is a role with great responsibilities that demands high-profile professional performance. The Executive Director is in charge of an organisation that cooperates with many international partners, including health ministries, scientists, companies, and other NGOs.

The annual salary of the Executive Director

Every three years, the Supervisory Board reviews the remuneration of the Executive Director. The most recent update took place in 2017. The Board concluded that the remuneration policy was performed in accordance with the regulations. The 2017 annual salary of the Executive Director Mr Jan van Berkel was €117,181 (1 FTE/12 months). Van Berkel donated his remuneration of €5,000 as chair of Goede Doelen Nederland to NLR.
